The NPS Technical Preservation Services helps homeowners, preservation professionals, organizations and government agencies preserve and protect the nation's heritage by providing readily available materials – guidance publications, videos and a website – on preserving, restoring and rehabilitating historic buildings. TPS develops workshops on key preservation issues and conducts training programs in partnership with universities, public agencies and professional organizations.
NPS Heritage Preservation Services include the Historic Landscape Initiative, which supports the preservation of designed landscapes (parks, gardens, etc.) as well as vernacular landscapes, such as farms and industrial sites, by developing and disseminating guidelines for preservation. Other related NPS HPS programs include: the American Battlefield Protection Program, the Tribal Preservation Program, National Historic Landmarks Assistance Initiative, Cultural Resource Mapping Service, and the Cultural Resource Training Initiative. The NPS oversees the National Register of Historic Places, the National Historic Landmarks Survey, Teaching with Historic Places Program, and offers river, trail and conservation assistance.

The NPS Technical Preservation Services helps homeowners, preservation professionals, organizations and government agencies preserve and protect the nation's heritage by providing readily available materials – guidance publications, videos and a website – on preserving, restoring and rehabilitating historic buildings. TPS develops workshops on key preservation issues and conducts training programs in partnership with universities, public agencies and professional organizations.
NPS Heritage Preservation Services include the Historic Landscape Initiative, which supports the preservation of designed landscapes (parks, gardens, etc.) as well as vernacular landscapes, such as farms and industrial sites, by developing and disseminating guidelines for preservation. Other related NPS HPS programs include: the American Battlefield Protection Program, the Tribal Preservation Program, National Historic Landmarks Assistance Initiative, Cultural Resource Mapping Service, and the Cultural Resource Training Initiative. The NPS oversees the National Register of Historic Places, the National Historic Landmarks Survey, Teaching with Historic Places Program, and offers river, trail and conservation assistance.
