NYSCA/GHHN Collections Needs Assessment Program

The NYSCA/GHHN Collection Needs Assessment Program was a NYSCA/GHHN Grant partnership program which provided two opportunities for museums across New York State. For four years, this program provided vital consultations and supplies to heritage organizations across NYS. 2020 was the final year of the program. 

Site Assessment Program

Supplies Program

This grant supported professional services for a collections consultant to come to your organization for a half-day site visit focusing on a collections related topic. A written report followed the consultation. 

This grant allowed for sites to request funds to purchase collections management supplies like storage boxes, acid-free tissue paper, artifact trays, dividers, UV filtering film, Tyvek sheeting, tape, tags, labels, and environmental monitors. Supply requests for archival or library collections were not supported.
