In a historic house museum in the Hudson Valley, a volunteer gently vacuums a signature quilt through a screen to remove dust without damaging the fibers. At a historic site in the Finger Lakes, a staff member checks a series of sticky traps for signs of pests that could harm the collection. On Long Island, a curator reviews their recent site assessment report and begins work on a disaster preparedness plan that will strengthen their emergency response.
These moments, often unseen by the public, are what collection care looks like at historic sites across New York State. And for more than 45 years, GHHN has been there to provide the tools, training, and expertise that help museums, libraries, archives, and historic sites care for the stories that connect us all. From hands-on workshops and responsive technical assistance to the NYSCA/GHHN Conservation Grant Program, the work we do at GHHN helps ensure that the pieces of New York State’s history that is held in trust is cared for properly and preserved for the future. This Giving Tuesday, you can be part of that story. With every gift to GHHN, you help preserve the full story of New York State - its people, places, and traditions. Together, our small acts of generosity become something enduring: a statewide network that keeps history alive.

About #GivingTuesday
Founded by the team in the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact at 92nd Street Y, #GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. This year, #GivingTuesday falls on November 30. #GivingTuesday harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season. It inspires people to take collective action to improve their communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they believe in, and help create a better world. #GivingTuesday demonstrates how every act of generosity counts, and that they mean even more when we give together.
