2014 GHHN Annual Conference & Awards for Excellence

2014 Awards for Excellence are presented to:

Bedford Historical Society
Bedford (Westchester). This award is in recognition of the publication of a new walking tour book and map.

Ellenville Public Library and Museum
Ellenville (Ulster). This award is in recognition of the regional history advancement and community collaboration involved in the activities commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Yama Farms Inn.

Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct
Dobbs Ferry (Westchester). This award is in recognition of the board vision involved in the production of the short film entitled 'Celebrate the Aqueduct'.

Southold Historical Society
Southold (Suffolk). This award is in recognition for the publication of Murder on Long Island - A Nineteenth Century Tale of Tragedy and Revenge by Geoffrey Fleming and Amy Kasuga Folk.

Hudson River Museum
Yonkers (Westchester). This award is in recognition of the publication of the exhibition catalogue of the exhibit Industrial Sublime.

Mount Gulian Historic Site
Beacon (Dutchess). This award is in recognition of the interpretation involved in the creation of a short film about James F. Brown, escaped slave.

Rockland County Archives
Pomona (Rockland). This award is in recognition of the publication "It's About Time" archival newsletter (Summer 2013): 
Rockland County Elections: 1813-1842.

Somers Historical Society
Somers (Westchester). This award is in recognition of the educational Student Historian Program.

Stephen Tilly, Architect/L&M Development Partners, Inc
Dobbs Ferry/Larchmont (Westchester). This award is in recognition for the historic preservation of 5 contiguous buildings in Philipse Manor Historic District.

Stephen Tilly, Architect/Tiffany Room Committee, Village of Irvington, Irvington Public Library
Dobbs Ferry/Irvington (Westchester). This award is in recognition of the historic preservation of the Tiffany Reading Room, Irvington Town Hall.

The Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art
New Paltz (Ulster). This award is in recognition for the exhibition, publication, and community collaboration involved in the creation of the exhibition Russel Wright: The Nature of Design as well as the exhibition catalogue.

Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site
Newburgh (Orange). This award is in recognition of the use of new technologies in the exhibit: Unpacked and Rediscovered: Selections from Washington's Headquarters' Collection.

West Point Museum Staff
West Point (Orange). This award is in recognition of the use of new technologies in the Trophy Point/Fort Putnam Reinterpretation project.
