The grant will support professional services for a collections consultant who will come to your organization for a half-day site visit focusing on a collections related topic. For 2017, applications to this program are by invitation only. An open call for applications will begin in 2018.
Applicants who have consulted with an appropriate professional may request funds to purchase collection management supplies.
Call for Consultants:
We are seeking museum consultants to serve the field for the Collection Needs Assessment Program (CNAP). Following in the footsteps of the extremely successful IMLS C2CNYS Circuit Rider Program, this new grant partnership program with NYSCA will provide an opportunity for collections support. CNAP Consultants are hired by sites to conduct
a visit on a particular collections care topic, which includes a written report. Consultants receive a stipend for their time and travel. If you are a museum professional who would like to learn more about being listed as a CNAP Consultant, please click here!
The NYSCA/GHHN Collection Needs Assessment Program is made possible with funds from the
New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
