Claudine Klose is president of Historic Red Hook, the historical organization serving the Hudson Valley’s Town of Red Hook. An experienced museum administrator, she spent the majority of her career at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History, in Washington, DC, retiring in 2007 as Deputy Director of the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation. She helped organize the Town of Red Hook’s 2012
Bicentennial Celebration, and served on the boards of Red Hook’s two primary heritage groups - the Egbert Benson Historical Society and the Friends of Elmendorph. In 2013, she led the merger of the two into a revitalized new organization, Historic Red Hook, dedicated to bringing local history to life. She and her husband live on Echo Valley Farm, one mile east of the Village of Red Hook.
