With more than 30 years in the media, entertainment, and museum industries, Alan Hoff has held strategic leadership roles across global post-production, broadcast, and digital communications. Alan brings deep industry experience to museums, guiding teams in creating clear, resonant, visitor-centered media. A dedicated educator and mentor, much of Alan’s career has focused on helping cultural institutions translate complex stories into meaningful, engaging visitor experiences.
At Monadnock, Alan has served in his current role for nearly a decade, providing executive leadership across all phases of a project from early concept and master media planning through installation. His relationship with Monadnock spans decades; he previously worked with the company as an editor and associate producer for six years in the 1990s and remained closely connected by serving on the Board and attending industry conferences in the 2010s. Alan believes museums are at their best when they lead with empathy, curiosity, and a commitment to truth-telling. Since 2019, he has helped lead projects for institutions including the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, the SPLC Civil Rights Memorial Center, the Choctaw Cultural Center, and the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum. An active educator, Alan teaches a day-long seminar on Designing Media Experiences for Museums at the Cooperstown Graduate Program and has also taught at the Fashion Institute of Technology. He holds a Master of Education from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science from the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. |
